Our Story

Our Quinta has stood in the Douro Valley for generations and has been owned by our family since 1940. We tended vines and olive trees long before tourism arrived. In 2019, we decided to open our doors to travellers, believing that sharing our way of life could offer others the tranquility and authenticity that drew us here. We continue to live and work on the estate - planting, harvesting, cooking and hosting - so your visit supports a working farm.

The Land

Our estate spreads across 20 hectares of rolling hills, where terraced vines, olive groves, almond trees and forests cascade down towards the Douro River. Winding paths lead to a quiet river beach.

The landscape is part of the Alto Douro Wine Region, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Winemaking here dates back over 2,000 years, and the designation honours both the ancient history and the ongoing stewardship of communities who continue to work this land. By staying with us, you become part of a living cultural landscape - a place where nature, history and human creativity come together in every bottle of wine.

Our Philosophy

Unlike luxury hotels that offer spa packages and infinity pools, we provide something simpler and truer. Our goal is to make you feel at home - whether you're sharing a bottle of our wine over dinner or swapping stories with fellow travellers. There's no television and minimal technology; the magic here comes from conversation, good food and the beauty of nature. Welcome to our home.
